At SOS Whistle, we believe in giving proper credit to the creators behind our products and respecting the work that goes into every design. This page outlines the licensing, design attribution, and intellectual property rights associated with our products.

1. Original Design Attribution

The original 3D models used as the foundation for select SOS Whistle products were created by Chox, an independent designer on MakerWorld.

These original designs have been modified, refined, and adapted by James Brittain, Founder of SOS Whistle, for commercial production and distribution under the SOS Whistle brand.

We recognize and appreciate the original work of Chox and acknowledge their contribution to the development of our products.

2. Commercial Licensing

SOS Whistle has obtained the necessary commercial licensing permissions to manufacture, market, and sell the applicable whistle designs within the United States.

These permissions allow SOS Whistle to commercially produce and distribute products based on the original licensed designs, including modifications made by James Brittain, subject to the terms of the applicable licenses.

All products are manufactured and sold in accordance with the permissions granted by their respective license holders.

3. Reproduction & Distribution

The designs used in SOS Whistle products are subject to applicable licensing terms and intellectual property protections.

Purchasing a product from SOS Whistle does not grant the purchaser any rights to reproduce, manufacture, distribute, or commercially sell the underlying design.

Anyone wishing to reproduce or commercially distribute a design originating from Chox must independently obtain the appropriate permissions from the original rights holder, unless their intended use is already permitted under the applicable license.

SOS Whistle does not grant sublicenses to the original designs.

4. SOS Whistle Modifications

James Brittain has made modifications to the original designs for use in SOS Whistle products. These modifications may include adjustments to the product's appearance, dimensions, structure, functionality, or manufacturing characteristics.

Any original modifications or independently created design elements developed by SOS Whistle remain subject to applicable intellectual property laws and the terms of the underlying licenses.

No part of this notice is intended to claim ownership of intellectual property belonging to the original designer.

5. Brand & Trademark Usage

The SOS Whistle name, logo, branding, product photography, marketing materials, and original website content are associated with SOS Whistle.

Unauthorized use of SOS Whistle branding in a manner that falsely suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation is prohibited.

Licensing of the underlying whistle designs does not grant third parties permission to use the SOS Whistle brand or its original creative materials.

6. Third-Party Design Rights

SOS Whistle respects the intellectual property rights of independent designers, manufacturers, and creators.

All rights to the original whistle designs remain with their respective rights holders, except to the extent expressly granted under applicable licensing agreements.

The commercial permissions held by SOS Whistle do not transfer ownership of the original designs to SOS Whistle.

7. Licensing Compliance

SOS Whistle is committed to maintaining the appropriate permissions for its commercial products and complying with the terms established by the relevant rights holders.

Licensing arrangements may be updated or renewed as necessary. Any changes to our products or licensing arrangements will be handled in accordance with the applicable agreements.
